Both beautiful and talented, the current “Dancing with the Stars” champion, Karina Smirnoff, will celebrate her birthday on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Gallery Nightclub inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
Smirnoff, a five-time U.S. Ballroom Champion, is best known for her illustrious professional dance career on the top-rated, primetime ABC television show, “Dancing with the Stars.” Smirnoff has danced with many celebrity talents such as, Ralph Macchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Mario Lopez, R&B singer Mario and her most recent dance partner, war hero J.R. Martinez, who won the season with her. In December 2010, she released her first fitness DVD, “Shape Up with Karina Smirnoff.” The dance inspired DVD focuses on toning, strengthening & muscle confusion; all with the goal of achieving a dancer’s body.
In January 2011, Smirnoff launched the Karina Collection of boots with Bearpaw Shoes that are warm and functional. She has also joined forces with Girlactik Beauty to partner on a Karina brand of cosmetics including, Karina’s Hurry Up & Get Ready look – a quick solution to look party perfect in minutes. Smirnoff has also opened up her first dance studio in Los Angeles, which incorporates competitive and social classes, as well as a scholarship program directly related to her charity, Dance Intervention – a division of Alternative IIntervention Models. On top of it all, she is also coming out with a brand new fitness program called, DanceFit, which will be nationwide soon.
Smirnoff has been featured in many mainstream magazines. She was one of the “Sexiest Bodies” of FHM, “Best Bodies of 2010” in Fitness and People’s “Most Beautiful,” with many other weekly placements for her beauty, body and talent. In between her 10 seasons on DWTS, Smirnoff has also appeared in “Shall We Dance,” a 2004 film starring Jennifer Lopez, as well as “Burn the Floor,” a hit Broadway dance production.
