A scoreless first loomed until Aces center Brian Swanson netted a goal with 2:24 left in the period, giving Alaska a 1-0 lead. Wranglers center Eric Lampe knotted the game 1-1 early in the second, and with his 36th goal of the season, the ECHL-leading goal scorer tied the Wranglers club record for most goals in a season. Midway through the period, Wranglers left wing Adam Miller and center Ash Goldie tallied back-to-back goals in 38 seconds for a 3-1 lead, but a goal from Aces defenseman Tyson Marsh ended the second 3-2 in favor of Las Vegas.
To secure the 4-2 win, Wranglers center Judd Blackwater tipped one in on Aces goalie Gerald Coleman, giving Las Vegas two points in the Western conference. With the Ontario Reign losing 3-0 to the Colorado Eagles, the Wranglers are one point behind the Reign in regaining the second seed in the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
