For their third album in 1996, Tiny Music…Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop, Stone Temple Pilots took a Beatlesque psychedelic approach and produced hits such as “Big Bang Baby,” “Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart” and “Lady Picture Show.” The fourth album, No. 4, returned to a more rock-based sound and spawned one of STP’s biggest hits, “Sour Girl.” Two years later, the group released Shangri-La Dee Da before a brief hiatus and in 2008, the band regrouped and went back on tour to amazing fanfare. A year later the band was back in the studio and released a self-titled album in 2010 which reached #1 on the Top Rock Albums chart and #2 on The Billboard 200.
