Boulder City Hospital Foundation Announces Robert Marble as Featured Artist for 53rd Annual “Art In The Park” Event October 3-4
Robert Marble has been named Featured Artist for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation’s 53rd Annual Art in the Park event (Pictured: “We are all in this together” by Robert Marble).
Marble, who hails from Newport Beach, California, was an art major in college and became a self-taught cartoonist who had always dreamed of becoming an artist and striking out on his own.
His aim is to help people laugh at themselves. One of todays noted contemporary humorous artist, he devotes himself to satirizing various professions and sports with insight and accuracy.
“I just paint what I see,” said Marble. On each cartoon you will find his trademark, a little red bird. When he finished his first long (10 x 38) painting in 1974, he stepped back and observed, “This painting needs a touch of red.” With a stroke of his brush, the little red bird was born.
Back in 1974, he was full of energy and restless while working as an illustrator and Art Director. Marble decided to leave his job to pursue what he loved doing best, making people laugh at themselves. Over the years he found that by drawing and painting everyday situations with a humorous slant, he learned about the funnier side of life in this high-tech, fast paced world of ours. At the same time he was reassured by the people he met that good, clean, old-fashioned humor never goes out of style.
“This is one of the reasons Marble’s artwork jumped out at us as fun and whimsical, we choose an acrylic painting entitled “We are all in this together” says Wendy Adams, Special Events Manager for Boulder City Hospital Foundation. “Just looking at this piece puts a smile on my face and I look forward to seeing everyone else smile right along with me”, said Adams.
All of Marble’s work continues to express his humorous philosophy through painting and experimenting with various shapes, colors and techniques. His latest work defines the human condition of depicting wildlife with titles that speaks to our positive side. Marble’s acrylic paintings, limited edition lithographs and giclee’s are displayed in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Art in the Park is one of the largest outdoor juried art festivals in the Southwest. The event features hundreds of original artists in the fine art, fine/contemporary craft and traditional craft categories. The festival is Boulder City Hospital Foundation’s signature fundraising event. Proceeds from the event benefit the non-profit Boulder City Hospital.
Art in the Park is free to the public and draws over 100,000 visitors to the Historic downtown area. This year celebrate its 53rd year of commitment by the local community in ensuring accessibility to premium health care to its residents and the greater Las Vegas Valley. Free parking is available throughout the city. Paid parking is available in the old Boulder City Airport parking lot with complimentary shuttle service taking visitors to the event.
