9 Group Surprises Chef Geno and Mixologist Jack “Sugar” O’Brien with Italy Shaped Birthday Cake

In honor of his birthday, Executive Chef Geno Bernardo hosted a special cooking class, Geno’s Favorite Dishes, at Nove Italiano inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, April 9 (Photo credit: 9 Group).  

During the class, Chef Geno and Mixologist Jack “Sugar” O’Brien were surprised with a large cake made in the shape of Italy to celebrate their birthdays, created by Caked Las Vegas Bakery.

Guests at the cooking class enjoyed a five-course menu showcasing Chef Geno’s favorite dishes that he learned from Grandma Bernardo’s classic recipes. Before the class, patrons sipped on a refreshing libation created by O’Brien called La Madrina. The cocktail, which in Spanish means Godmother, features Don Julio Silver, cucumber juice, lemon juice, simple syrup and maraschino liqueur.

Cooking enthusiasts who missed out on this class can join Chef Geno in the kitchen at noon on Saturday, April 30, as he co-hosts a special cooking class with internationally-acclaimed producer and DJ, Paul Oakenfold.
