AFAN Celebrates 25 Years of Its Annual Black & White Party

Aid for AIDS of Nevada will host its 25th Annual Black & White Party at the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, inviting partygoers to join the fight against HIV/AIDS on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. In celebration of hosting the avant-garde party for a quarter of a century, AFAN will transform the Boulevard Pool into a full sensory experience providing nonstop entertainment and an incredible spread of tastings including appetizers, desserts and libations.

Guests will be treated to a lavish array of small plates from several of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ restaurants including Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill, China Poblano, Comme Ça, D.O.C.G., Holsteins, Jaleo and STK. Premier restaurants from around the city will also feature delectable dishes including BOA Steakhouse, Sushi Roku, BRIO Tuscan Grill, Rubio’s, P. F. Chang’s, Outback, Chicago Popcorn, The Cupcakery, The Cookie Zoo and Winder Farms. For thirst-quenching relief, ice bars will be hosted by various liquor sponsors such as Jose Cuervo, Montecristo Rum, Moet Champagne, Trader Joe’s, Absolut Vodka and Ketel One.

Renowned Strip performers have come together to provide an outstanding lineup of entertainment for the 2011 affair. Performers from Wynn Las Vegas’ Le Rêve will feature their artistic talent on the stage as well as multiple acts from the Strip’s hottest new show, Absinthe, and a special performance from V Theater. Various forms of strolling entertainment will amuse partygoers throughout the venue including couture models with live macaw birds, stilt walkers, dancers, a caricaturist, a fortune teller, a magician and body painting artists. Returning for another year of hosting is longtime supporter and 8 News Now TV Anchor Chris Saldana as well as DJ Axis on the decks.

Tickets to the 25th Annual Black & White Party are $35 per person, which includes complimentary drinks and cuisine. New to this year’s event will be an exclusive pre-party at the exquisite Marquee Nightclub. For $75, guests can mix and mingle in the Boom Box Room from 7 – 9 p.m. Those who wish to extend their elite status can purchase a private daybed for $1000 that includes tickets for six.
