Americana Songwriter Paul Thorn to Perform at Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip August 11
Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Paul Thorn will perform at Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip on Saturday, August 11.
Born and raised in Tupelo, MS, Thorn is the second biggest thing to come out of Tupelo since the late, great Elvis Presley. Thorn has been pleasing crowds for years with his muscular brand of roots music — bluesy, rocking and thoroughly Southern. Thorn grew-up with a Minister as a father and a Pimp as an uncle, which lent obvious inspiration to the highly successful release of Pimps and Preachers in 2010 which topped Americana charts for three weeks and broke into the Billboard Top 100.
Thorn took an unexpected detour from his usual semi-autobiographical writing while recording a follow-up to Pimps and Preachers, deciding to do an album of covers. The collection, entitled What the Hell is Goin’ On?, showcases artists familiar to Americana fans such as Buddy Miller and Ray Wylie Hubbard and many lesser-known artists.
Thorn and his band of 15 years have an incredible sense of camaraderie and are sure to be performing both his captivating originals and the favored covers.
