Artist and Experiential Designer Craig Winslow to Present “Brilliant! The Magic Revealed”
In this presentation Artist and Experiential Designer Craig Winslow will discuss the creative technology behind the new immersive experience, “Brilliant!” at the Neon Museum

“Brilliant!” is a 360-degree audiovisual immersion experience that uses technology advances to reanimate 40 monumental examples of the Neon Museum’s iconic vintage signs. The largest augmented reality experience of its kind was designed by using projection mapping to illuminate and re-electrify unrestored, non-working and in some cases broken signs.

Incorporating archival footage from the Las Vegas News Bureau, the experience transports guests directly into Las Vegas’ history, where static signs come to life while accompanied by music from some of the entertainment industry’s most storied performers. This presentation, a partnership between the Neon Museum and Nevada State College’s Office of Arts & Culture, is the first in a three-part Artist Lab series.

Craig Winslow is an experiential designer who loves blending the physical and digital. From his studio in Portland, Oregon, Winslow is part of a new wave of American artists combining technology with traditional artistic elements in immersive settings. In 2016 he was awarded an Adobe Creative Residency to develop a nation-wide project, “Light Capsules,” which inspired the concept for his new venture, “Brilliant!” with the Neon Museum, which has already gained major international attention. Winslow previously served as a guest speaker at SXSW festival, Adobe MAX, and London Design festival.
