Race bettors at Jerry’s Nugget Casino are eligible for an added bonus with this year’s Weekly Del Mar Handicapping Contest. Commencing with the first race held July 23rd, the contest awards winners up to $500 cash and a chance at the grand prize: a round trip for two to Del Mar’s closing day with airfare and accommodations included.
This marks the first year that Jerry’s Nugget will be giving away a trip to Del Mar. Contestants can participate in the Jerry’s Nugget Del Mar Handicapping Contest for only $10 every week; and can enter up to three times for only $20 per week with the Buy 2, Get 1 Free Coupon available at the Race Counter.
Every week is a new contest and a fresh new start to win the prize money. Playing is simple: choose any five selections from the first eight races on the Saturday Del Mar Card and accumulate points for Win, Place and Show. The highest point earner will receive $400 CASH and the second place highest point earner will receive $100 CASH. As a bonus, winners will also receive a $30 dining certificate good to any Jerry’s Nugget restaurant if they are MoreClub members.
In addition to the cash prizes and dining certificates, contestants and winners will be awarded drawing tickets to a getaway at Del Mar, valued at $1,000. Included in the package: round trip airfare for two to San Diego, admission and two reserved track seats to the closing day race events at Del Mar held Wednesday, September 7th, ground transportation from San Diego Airport to Del Mar Hilton, one-night hotel accommodations at the Del Mar Hilton, plus $200 cash.
One drawing ticket will be given to contestants who have entered all seven weeks. Additional drawing tickets will be awarded for anyone finishing in first or second place in any of the contests. The winner of the Del Mar trip will be drawn and announced at 6pm on September 3rd at the Jerry’s Nugget Race Book. Winner must be present to win.
The Jerry’s Nugget Weekly Del Mar Contest officially begins with the first Saturday card held July 23rd. Betting windows open at 8am. The contest will continue every Saturday through September 3rd. Guests arriving early on race day will be served complimentary donuts and coffee. Track sandwiches, which consist of turkey or beef brisket served on homemade rolls, will be available at the Race and Sports Book for $2 each.
