Legendary Comedian Marty Allen Recovering After Surgery
It takes a lot to keep Marty Allen down. The active 95 year old comedy icon and his talented wife Karon Kate Blackwell have gigs booked throughout 2018. But every now and then, life wants us to slow down… just a little.(Pictured: Marty with his memoir HELLO DERE: You’ll Never Believe Who I Spent The Night With!).
So here’s the bad news: Marty broke his hip on Christmas Morning.
Now, the good news: Doc say he’s doing great after surgery Tuesday morning, and will set an aggressive rehab program to get him back on stage very soon.
While still in the recovery room, he asked the doctor give him the phone so he could “book his next show!” Typical Marty. A man who is known for his spirit and heart.
Docs say he’s just going to slow down a little… for now. Plans for upcoming shows around the country, continue. So fans will still be able to catch Marty and Karon in New York, Boca Raton, Florida, and New Hope, Pennsylvania in the New Year.
