The votes are in and Las Vegas speaks out for ‘Best of the Valley,’ a poll conducted by local weekly publication, Las Vegas CityLife, which announced this year’s results Thursday, March 19, 2009. Ghostbar at Palms Casino Resort graces the cover and is honored as the ‘best place for a first date’ and ‘best ultra-lounge,’ while N9NE Steakhouse steals the spotlight for ‘best steakhouse’ and Rain Nightclub is recognized in the ‘best nightclub’ category.
Winning ‘best place for a first date’ and ‘best ultra-lounge,’ ghostbar is an 8,000 square foot indoor-outdoor lounge and sky deck located on the 55th floor of the Palms Casino Resort. Indoors amid the seductive shadows, the sleek, chic venue offers ultra-lounging luxury among an ethereal color scheme of silver, white, greens and grays. Fourteen foot floor-to-ceiling windows offer a dramatic view of the night sky and city below; a 30-foot ghost-shaped soffit in the ceiling changes colors as a deejay spins an eclectic music mix. Patrons can lounge on the custom, ultra-contemporary furniture, seek privacy in the intimate seating arrangements or VIP lounge or mingle at the terrazzo bar. Behind the bar, shelves of premium spirits glow with the incandescence cast by backlit panels of acrylic-encased fabric. The dramatic outdoor deck provides almost a 360-degree view of the Vegas skyline, with a glass inset in the floor offering a jaw-dropping view straight down. Posh seating areas are enhanced with a fiber-optically lit drink rail running most of the circumference of the deck. Specialty cocktails include champagne concoctions and the signature “ghostini” as well as an extensive champagne selection and limited, hand-picked wine list, with high-end wines by the glass.

With multiple levels and environments comprising 25,000 square feet, extraordinary design and special effects, Rain Nightclub combines performances by international headliners, an electrifying dance club, a private event facility and intimate enclaves in one dynamic, multi-sensory destination. A tunnel of gold-mirrored mosaic with color changing lights, fog, and sound leads guests into the venue and hints at the energy level inside. The entrance is flanked by an elevated seating and staging area with a private bar accommodating up to 75 guests. Rain’s interior boasts ultra-sleek, contemporary furnishings, a distinctive blend of mosaic, terrazzo, glass and bamboo and vibrant, seductive color schemes of red, gold, black, purple and orange. High above the cabana level, six sky boxes on the mezzanine/VIP level boast private balconies overlooking the nightclub below.
