Rain Nightclub and Palms Casino Resort host the ultimate retro-inspired roller skating disco party Down & Derby at 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 24. The national skating phenomenon rolls into Las Vegas’ top mega-nightclub to throw another dance party featuring DJ Nugget and Bonics and resident skate guard DJ SHR3D controlling the roller disco rink’s turntables.
Down & Derby, the best party on wheels, is a retro-inspired roller skating party created and designed to give attendees a unique nightlife experience. The interactive throwback events have been tearing up roller rinks in NYC, Pittsburgh, Pomona and Los Angeles, combining décor reminiscent of a 70s roller disco with attendees participating by wearing fashion attire evocative of the era. DJs known for pushing the limits of mixing and music production are procured, adding vibrant energy to the event with both underground and popular mixes. Upcoming 2010 event dates: July 22, Aug. 19, Sept. 23, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.
Entry is $5 in advance and $15 at the door. Quad skates of every size will be available to rent for $5. Guests are welcome to bring their own roller skates to the event. For dress code information and to RSVP, please visit www.downandderby.org. Guests must be 21 and over.
