The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Opens Its Doors

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the highly anticipated luxury resort at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip officially opened its doors to the public for the first time. The evening’s festivities included a first-look party for invited guests, followed by the traditional ceremonial first bet just before the doors opened. The resort’s first guests also enjoyed an outdoor concert by Brandon Flowers, The Killers front man—a Las Vegas native. In a first-ever innovation for the legendary Las Vegas entertainment scene, the opening-night concert was simulcast on The Cosmopolitan’s marquee, meaning passersby on the Las Vegas Strip were be able to watch the concert live on its 65-foot-tall LED-display marquee.

Earlier in the day, The Cosmopolitan’s CEO John Unwin presided over a ribbon-cutting ceremony inside the new resort’s Boulevard Casino, which features floor-to-ceiling windows facing the world-famous Strip. He was joined by fellow executive leadership from The Cosmopolitan as well as the imaginative resort’s world-class design, architecture and construction team.

The resort’s vertical multi-tower design offers spectacular views of the vibrant city. The new 2,995-room resort features oversized, residential-style living spaces with expansive, one-of-a-kind private terraces. The Cosmopolitan’s luxurious resort amenities include a 100,000-square-foot casino; Sahra Spa & Hammam; three unique pool experiences at The Pool District; Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan, a multi-level integrated nightclub; a diverse and dynamic restaurant collection; nine eclectic retail boutiques and 150,000 square feet of state-of-the-art convention and meeting space.
