The Cure to Perform at The Pearl at The Palms Apr. 17

Just two days before their appearance at this year’s Coachella Festival, The Cure will play an intimate show at The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort.

The Cure, originally named Easy Cure when the group came together in 1976, has entertained fans around the world for 32 years with front man Robert Smith at the forefront from day one. Originally playing around Southern England, the band quickly gained a loyal fan base and was signed to the label Fiction in 1978.

The debut album Three Imaginary Boys was released in May 1979 to great acclaim and the band began to tour, releasing singles “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Jumping Someone Else’s Train.” Following years of successful releases through the ’80s including Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me (1987), The Cure released one of its most admired releases Disintegration (1989). Disintegration spawned four hit singles and the amazing Prayer Tour, which eventually was captured live for the album Entreat. Another decade of releases followed, and in 2000 the band released the Grammy-nominated Bloodflowers. The Cure hit the road again with a massive world-wide Dreamtour, playing to more than a million fans in just nine months. The band’s Greatest Hits album was released in 2001, followed by the DVD Trilogy with entire performances of all tracks from Pornography (1982), Disintegration and Bloodflowers. Additional boxed sets and special releases, as well as new albums followed including 2008’s October 4:13, the band’s 13th studio album.

After many line-up changes, The Cure is Robert Smith (Vocal and Guitar – 32 years in the band), Simon Gallup (Bass – 29 years in the band), Porl Thompson (Guitar – 15 years in the band) and Jason Cooper (Drums – 13 years in the band).
