“Throughout the years we have had the opportunity to have some of the greatest musicians in country music perform at our venue and we are proud to announce that Trick Pony will be added to that expanding list,” said Chris Lowden, co-founder of Stoney’s Rockin’ Country.

Formed in 1996 as a trio of musicians, Trick Pony has stayed relevant in an ever changing world of country music by doing what they do best, delivering high-energy music to its loyal fans. Pony quickly became one of the most talked about new acts in country music in 2001 cranking out hits including their self-penned debut single and still ever catchy “Pour Me,” followed by “On A Night Like This,” “Just What I Do,” “On A Mission,” their Top 20 cover of Bonnie Tyler’s 70’s hit “It’s A Heartache” and more. The group produced three chart-topping albums from 2001-2005 on both Warner Brothers records and Curb Records, Trick Pony (2001) On A Mission (2002) and RIDE (2005).

After a musical hiatus in December of 2006, Trick Pony’s Heidi Newfield and Keith Burns reformed as a duo in 2014 where they have been steadily building a new full-length album bringing back an enhanced and current version of what put Trick Pony on the map in the first place. Part of the new direction of Trick Pony will include the trade off of vocals between Newfield and Burns, while still maintaining those signature big harmonies. The first taste of the new music, “It’s A God Thing,” is currently available for digital download through iTunes.
