Bikers Ride in for Eighth Annual Las Vegas BikeFest, October 2-5
More than 35,000 bikers and motorcycle fanatics are expected to cruise into Las Vegas to attend the eighth annual Las Vegas BikeFestTM, a national motorcycle and biker rally held in Sin City, October 2-5, 2008. This four-day motorcycle rally returns to host some of the world’s most skilled custom motorcycle builders for an exhilarating biker build-off competition, one-of-a-kind custom bike exhibitions, and a vibrant Vendor Village with 300 of the greatest manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, parts, accessories and apparel, according to Harry Schwartz, president of Full Throttle Events, one of Las Vegas BikeFest’s partners.
“Las Vegas BikeFest 2008 guarantees to be a wild weekend featuring some of the biggest names in the custom bike industry and an opportunity for people to immerse themselves in the biker culture,” says Schwartz. “In addition to Vendor Village, entertainment during the day, the casinos, the restaurants, the clubs and the cruising on The Strip, Las Vegas BikeFest has a full schedule of activities to keep visitors busy and entertained.”
The fifth annual Artistry in Iron, Master Builders’ Championship will feature 20 of the world’s most progressive bike builders in an “invitation only” peer judged competition. Sponsored by American Cycle Magazine, many of today’s hottest master bike builders, including Roger Goldammer, Jim Nasi and Cory Ness, will have the chance to show off their artistry talents when they unveil their newest designs.
On Saturday, October 4, more than 100 of the coolest bikes in the country will be on display along four blocks of the Fremont Street Experience as part of the Custom Bike Show. The winner of the Las Vegas BikeFest Custom Bike Show Radical Class will not only win a $5,000 cash prize and a one-of-a-kind Ego Tripp Wheels custom trophy, but the builder of the bike will automatically qualify for an invitation to participate in the 2009 Artistry in Iron, Master Builders’ Championship.
Additional events will include the Las Vegas BikeFest Concert Series, featuring some of the hottest live music acts, Harley-Davison demo rides, an unpredictable Mr. and Miss Las Vegas BikeFest Competition, $100,000 Poker Run, World’s Strongest Biker Competition and a wet-and-wild Bikini Contest. Also taking place this weekend is the 4th Annual Race for Kids Charity Event, a scenic ride through the Las Vegas countryside to help support the efforts of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
