Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada Get Ready for New School Year
As the end of summer break winds down, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) is ramping up preparation for the new school year starting on Monday, August 12. Serving the community for more than 60 years, BGCSNV has 13 locations throughout Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson and offers high quality programming for children ages 5 through 18 years.
Giving a child a sense of belonging and supportive relationships as well as providing a safe and positive environment is of the utmost priorities for BGCSNV. And at the heart of each day in a Club, is the youth development professionals delivering quality programming based upon five core areas – Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.
Each Clubhouse offers a game room, homework assistance, computer access, art, sports, field trips and more. In addition, each has a unique area just for teens, where they can have fun, have access to a computer lab, receive guidance for graduating high school as well as post-secondary education, workforce development and military. This past year, BGCSNV had a 98% graduation rate for high school seniors.
Families are encouraged to register their children early. To find a Clubhouse, go towww.bgcsnv.org/clubhouses. Download the membership application from the Club’s webpage and bring it to the Club to complete the registration process. An annual membership is $35 per child and $20 per teen, with additional programming and transportation fees.
