One of the finest last survivors of the Female Impersonation Golden Age will give a one time only performance at the Onyx Theater on September 18 at 5pm.
As one of Finocchio’s featured attractions, David de Alba was part of the history of this world famous San Francisco female impersonator club for over two decades. He has created a new one-man musical show “Finocchio Club Backstage Memoirs”.

David de Alba’s Finocchio Backstage Memoirs Performance at The Onyx Theater Sept. 18
The show features songs that made him famous, and he recounts entertaining and funny anecdotes that took place backstage. As Boy-Chic, one of the three personas he impersonates on stage, and through several outfit changes, he sings songs of yesteryear in English and in Spanish. These songs are interspersed with stories dealing with the gossip, intrigue and comical situations. David’s closing act is a interpretation of Liza Minnelli’s “New York, New York”.
David de Alba’s vocal range still has the tonal qualities that set him apart from other female illusionists. His voice is an instrument of incredible emotional nuance.
