Happy Birthday Girl Scouts! On September 15, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada and Las Vegas 51s present World of Girls, 100th Girl Scout Birthday Bash. This free community event will feature fun for the entire family with live entertainment, hands on activities, a sing-a-long, food and more.
World of Girls will showcase Girl Scout initiatives important to girls leadership development with four interactive worlds – Environmental, Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy, Healthy Living and Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math – STEM. A Leadership Café will highlight successful women leaders in southern Nevada through small interactive workshops.
“The 100th Birthday Bash is not just about celebrating what Girl Scouts has done for girl leadership in the past 100 years, but what girls will accomplish in the next 100,” Patricia Miller, CEO Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada said. “Girl Scouts opens up a world of possibilities and shows girls they can do anything.”
Local community partners including UNLV Women’s Basketball Team, State of Nevada – Office of the State Treasurer, United Blood Services, Las Vegas Natural History Museum and many more will be on hand to share what they do for Girl Scouts and their families in southern Nevada.
Doors open at 9 a.m. with a short Girl Scout welcome ceremony featuring a parade of the 10 decades of Girl Scouts. Festivities end at 2 p.m. Cashman Center is located at 850 North Las Vegas Boulevard Las Vegas, NV 89101. Exhibitor applications are still being accepted.
