In Person: Snoop Dogg to Unveil Figure at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas
Following a detailed sitting with sculptors and artisans in October and hundreds of measurements, Rapper Snoop Dogg, aka Cordozar Calvin Broadus, and the man known for his recent TV series, “Snoop Dogg Father Hood” (E! Entertainment), is joining the Madame Tussauds Las Vegas family as part of its “On Stage” area. An official unveiling, with Snoop Dogg in attendance, accompanied by 50 members of his Los Angeles-based Pomona Steelers football team to cheer him on, takes place on Mon., April 20, in Las Vegas.
Snoop Dogg is one of only three Rap super stars to be featured in the Madame Tussauds worldwide collection. For the April 20 unveiling, the entertainer has donated his own clothes-including a baseball jacket from the rapper-turned-entrepreneur’s new clothing line–to outfit the life-size likeness handcrafted in the attraction’s London studios at a cost of $300,000.
His first solo venture, “Doggystyle,” remains one of his biggest selling albums and in 2007, “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood” debuted on the E! channel and a new TV outing, “Dogg After Dark,” hosted by the entertainer, airs on MTV. A new CD is planned for 2009 and Snoop Dogg will also appear in the video game “Rock Band.”
