RiSE Festival Partners with Las Vegas Charities and Invites Them to Rise Oct. 4

RiSE Festival Partners with Las Vegas Charities and Invites Them to Rise Oct. 4
RiSE Festival (RiSE)
has partnered with The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, Communities in Schools of Southern Nevada and Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. RiSE has donated tickets to all three charities so each organization can bring the individuals they support and work with to the Mojave Desert to experience the world’s largest lantern festival.

Since RiSE’s inception in 2014, its goal has always been to invite the world to rise. Throughout the years, the team at RiSE has worked with hundreds of individuals and families who wanted to experience RiSE but couldn’t financially afford it on their own. This year RiSE wanted to further its impact in the local community by partnering with three deserving charities.

RiSE is the fastest growing lantern and lifestyle festival, with 30,000 attendees anticipated for its 2019 event, scheduled Oct. 4-6. It is a music, lifestyle and lantern festival staged in the Mojave Desert, outside of Las Vegas. RiSE recently announced its expansion into Dubai hosting its first event this November. As the festival’s branches are growing internationally, its roots are grounded in Las Vegas.

“RiSE Festival embodies community healing through a collective experience,” said Dan Hill, co-founder of RiSE. “We chose to partner with these three charities because of the amazing and transformative work they are doing in Nevada. We wanted to reach out to our community and make sure anyone going through a hard time has the opportunity to attend and experience RiSE”.

The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada is a community-based organization that supports and promotes activities directed at furthering the well-being, positive image, and human rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and queer community, its allies, and low to moderate income residents in Southern Nevada.

Communities In Schools (CIS) of Southern Nevada is the local affiliate of the nation’s largest and most effective K-12 dropout prevention organization, operating in 53 school sites and serving over 60,000 students. CIS of Southern Nevada connects students and their families to basic and critical educational and community-based resources, tailored to each student’s specific needs.

Nevada Partnerships for Homeless Youth (NPHY) works to provide Southern Nevada’s homeless youth with help, hope, and support needed to rebuild their lives. The nonprofit organization’s services include programs to stabilize young people’s lives, meeting their immediate needs and providing a safe, and supportive environment. NPHY is dedicated to advocating for the Las Vegas Valley’s homeless youth and service as a leader in efforts to eliminate homelessness among Nevada’s youth.

RiSE is Oct. 4, 5 and 6 and begins in mid-afternoon. Ticket prices are $119 per adult on Friday and Saturday, $99 per adult on Sunday, and $69 per child (ages 4-10). On Sunday, there is also a $79 adult ticket for Nevada residents with proper identification.

The festival will be held in the Mojave Desert, 25 miles south of Las Vegas on the Jean Dry Lake bed. If approaching the site from the south on I-15, take Exit 12 for Jean/Goodsprings; from the north on I-15, take Exit 25 for Sloan. Follow signage and traffic management to the venue from both ways.

Parking is available on the Jean Dry Lake Bed with purchase of a $29 parking pass, which must be purchased online at the time of ticket purchase.
