Side by Side Hosts Veterans Hometown Celebration and Fundraiser

Side by Side Veterans hosted its third annual Veterans Hometown Celebration at the Coldwell Banker Premier Realty building on Sky Pointe Drive. The event celebrated the service of United States Armed Forces veterans, and raised funds and supplies to support veterans in need. 

Guests enjoyed delicious barbeque favorites from Road Kill Grill, as well as a petting zoo, patriotic pony rides, face painting and cotton candy.

A silent auction benefitted Michael’s Angel Paws – Side by Side Veterans was able to donate several scholarships for training service dogs and their veterans.

Quilts of Valor presented three quilts to active duty and retired veterans.

Side by Side Veterans also collected supplies for Side by Side Baskets. The housewarming baskets are filled with basic living essentials provided to veterans newly housed by the VA. Items can include sheets, dishes, kitchen, cleaning and laundry supplies, towels, toiletries and paper products.
