HomeAid Southern Nevada has partnered with residential builder Woodside Homes to receive a large donation that will go toward community projects that benefit vulnerable and homeless populations in the valley.
Woodside Homes has designated a site in Ridgeview at Skye Canyon located in Northwest Vegas Valley for the construction of a home priced in the mid $300s to low $400s. Using its resources in the building industry, HomeAid will acquire corporate donations of labor, materials, and fees for the home and the in-kind proceeds of that sale will be donated to HomeAid’s Shelter Build and Outreach Programs.
“We are immensely thankful to our donors, which play an invaluable part in funding our ongoing programming to support those experiencing homelessness in our community,” said Nat Hodgson, Executive Director at HomeAid Southern Nevada. “Thanks to this generous offering from Woodside Homes and all subcontractors and suppliers, we’ll be more armed to help individuals in need.”
Since 2014, HomeAid Southern Nevada has given $3.9 million back to the Las Vegas community through shelter build projects, including the recent renovation of Poverello House in Henderson, a day shelter that provides hospitality such as food, laundry and shower services for homeless individuals.
“It is a wonderful privilege to be involved with HomeAid Southern Nevada,” says Kent Lay, Woodside Homes Nevada Division President. “Every effort that goes into this project reaps benefits for the vulnerable members of our community. We care deeply about families and individuals experiencing homelessness, and HomeAid’s mission to bring effective housing solutions to the valley. With support from our local trade partners, the Nevada Division is grateful and proud to build our partnership with HomeAid in the Southern Nevada community.”
