Even with the pandemic hurting, one local non-profit hasn’t stopped its owner from reaching out to help others.
Michele Morgan’s Dinosaurs and Roses non-profit thrift store was forced to shut its doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While closed and working from home, she immediately started receiving messages from locals in need of food. Even while navigating uncertainty in hopes of keeping her own enterprise running, Morgan is choosing to put the needs of others first.
She created a t-shirt drive for those willing to donate $20 or more to her non-profit. Morgan will give donors of $20 or more a free “Stay Home for Nevada” t-shirt. All proceeds will go towards food gift cards she will purchase and mail to those in need.
“Since we’ve had to close our non-profit office, I forwarded all of my phone lines to my cell. I am getting so many calls from people asking if I can help with food,” Morgan said. “This effort is in line with our mission to be ‘everyone’s charity.’”
Dinosaurs & Roses is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to community outreach. Proceeds from sales at its thrift store go to a wide range of community charities and organizations who support Southern Nevada’s vulnerable populations.
