The First Las Vegas Cannabis Lounge is on its Way

The Nevada government has officially granted a license to the first Las Vegas cannabis lounge business — likely the first of many to come.

To be clear, the weed business isn’t just going to be a place for getting cannabis in Las Vegas. Instead, you can think of the business as a “weed bar,” where recreational pot can be consumed on-site.

The Las Vegas cannabis lounge, dubbed Smoke and Mirrors, was granted the first of likely many licenses to come after Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board agents inspected the business earlier this week.

Currently, there are 19 other lounge-type businesses that have been granted conditional licenses, according to an ABC News story seen by Vegas News. However, there will need to be a final inspection before full licenses are granted.

When it comes to Las Vegas weed laws, you need to understand that Nevada voters approved legislation that legalized recreational cannabis in 2021. However, Las Vegas area restrictions prohibit consumption of cannabis in hotels, ride-share vehicles, and in public — meaning that there are relatively few options for partaking in the legal substance.

That is, until Las Vegas cannabis lounge businesses start opening up. These types of lounges have been promoted for tourists that want to use cannabis but can’t at their hotels or other accommodations.

When the Smoke and Mirrors lounge first opens later in February, it will provide a comfortable environment and a range of different options, such as cannabis-infused cocktails. The lounge will also provide local artists and musicians a place to showcase their work.
