Las Vegas is known to be a culinary hotspot, but if you’re craving real Southern-style barbecue, then Honor BBQ might be your best bet.
Honor BBQ is a recently opened restaurant in southwest Las Vegas. While many of the area’s best Korean BBQ restaurants are nearby, Honor takes a different approach by taking cues from both Texas and Tennessee.
Comparing different styles of barbecue can quickly become contentious. However, Honor BBQ skips the state rivalries by combining Texas-style smoking techniques with Tennessee-style dry rubs and seasonings. The result? Absolutely incredible barbecue.
You’ll find deliciously smoked chopped brisket, pulled pork, pork spare ribs, whole beer can chicken, and jalapeño cheddar sausage links. All of the meat is deliciously smoked using hickory wood by expert pitmasters before being slathered in sauce.
Of course, there are also some incredible sides, including green beans braised with bacon, fried green tomatoes, and a special side dubbed “Texas Twinkies,” which are actually just jalapeño peppers stuffed with smoked brisket.
The team at Honor BBQ is also not new to restaurants. The barbecue spot is the brainchild of Andy Hooper of Hooper Hospitality Concepts, which is known for local restaurants Locale Italian Kitchen and El Luchador Mexican Kitchen & Cantina.
Best of all, the restaurant is literally named after “honoring” first responders and members of the military. As such, it offers an incredible discount for public servants: 50% off people in uniform, and 20% off for first responders and military members when not in uniform.
All of this is to say that Honor BBQ might just become one of the best BBQ restaurants in Las Vegas.

The restaurant is located at 7825 Blue Diamond Road, and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
