Harvick, the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, is a 5-1 favorite for the 267-lap race, according to Boyd Gaming Events. Four-time Kobalt 400 winner and six-time Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, as well as Las Vegas native and reigning Sprint Cup Series champion Kyle Busch are second at 6-1.
Johnson won the Kobalt 400 from 2005-07 and again in 2010, while Kyle Busch won the 2009 race. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is next at 7-1, and hometown driver Kurt Busch, the 2004 Sprint Cup Series champion, opened at 12-1.
Three-time Kobalt 400 winner Matt Kenseth, the race champion from 2003-04 and in 2013, is 8-1 along with Joey Logano.
Kyle Busch is the favorite for Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 at 6-5, with Brad Keselowski following at 11-5 and Erik Jones third at 7-2. Austin Dillon, who won last year’s race, is next at 5-1 and is looking to become the first repeat winner in Boyd Gaming 300 history, while Las Vegas native Brendan Gaughan opened at 22-1.
