Jimmie Johnson Favored to Win Sunday’s Shelby 427 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is favored to win Sunday’s Shelby 427 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Johnson – a three-time winner at LVMS from 2005-2007 – got the nod today from Fred Crespi, Director of Race and Sports for The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet driver will start Sunday’s 427-mile grind at 9/2 – ahead of local hero Kyle Busch at 6/1 and 2009 Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth (who also won at LVMS in 2003 and 2004) at 8/1.
Jeff Gordon, who won the Las Vegas race in 2001, is listed at 7/1 and rookie sensation Joey Logano’s odds are 50/1.
