Las Vegas Hilton’s 2010-2011 SuperContest Winner
The Las Vegas Hilton’s annual SuperContest, the top football handicapping contest, announced the winner over the championship weekend (Pictured above: Richard Stand and Jay Kornegay 2011 SuperContest Winner).
First time entrant Richard Stand was the winner following the 2010-2011 regular season. Richard Stand’s win broke a two year run by one of the top handicappers in the game, Steve Fezzik. Mr. Fezzik won the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 SuperContest. Mr. Stand collected $207,000 for topping the field. His final record was 54 wins, 28 losses, and 3 ties for a total of 55.5 points.
Stand edged out Douglas W. by one-half point for the top prize. Douglas W collected $82,800 for runner-up. Rounding out the top five are; Kevin P and Michele F who tied for third and collected $33,637.50 each. Five contestants tied for fifth and collected $18,112.50 each. The SuperContest pays out the top 20 contestants.
The SuperContest is played in the world’s largest race and sports book, the SuperBook at the Las Vegas Hilton. Contestants pay a $1,500 entry fee prior to the start of the regular professional football season and then pick 5 games each week against the point spread. The prize pool is structured so that contestants receive 100% of the prize money paid in.
