Mandalay Bay and The Mirage to Host Closed Circuit Viewing For De La Hoya Vs. Pacquiao
Mandalay Bay and The Mirage will host closed circuit viewing in conjunction with the upcoming “Dream Match” between the ‘Golden Boy’ Oscar De La Hoya and Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao. The championship card, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, will be distributed by HBO-Pay-Per-View and the live telecast will begin at 6 p.m. PST. Circus Circus, TI, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Luxor and New York-New York will host a limited number of closed circuit seats.
Tickets for the closed circuit telecast are priced at $60, not including handling fees. All seats are general admission and are now on sale at each individual property’s box office outlets or by phone with a major credit card at 866-799-7711. Ticket sales are limited to eight (8) per person.
Tickets for the fight sold out in one day and established a live gate of nearly $17 million. This was second only to the De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather fight held in May 2007 which featured a record-breaking $19 million gate.
Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, Inc., presented by Tequila Cazadores and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, Dewalt Tools and Southwest Airlines, this fight is an exciting and intriguing 12-round, 147-pound welterweight battle pitting two of the most recognizable and popular talents in the sport in what will be the grand finale of the 2008 boxing calendar year.
