Vegas Golden Knights’ Bellemare Shaves Head with Breast Cancer Patients from Comprehensive Cancer Centers
The fight against breast cancer is a cause that is near and dear to Vegas Golden Knights’ Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and his wife, Hannah.
Two days before the puck drops on the Golden Knights’ 2018-2019 season, Bellemare joined patients from Comprehensive Cancer Centers (Comprehensive) for a one-of-a-kind head-shaving event outside of T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The event was designed to raise awareness and help kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). Bellemare, in addition to the attending patients, shaved each other’s heads in what was a visually moving and captivating ceremony.
The event featured comments from Jon Bilstein (Executive Director of Comprehensive) as well as Angela VanBrackle (Senior Development Manager) of American Cancer Society. A donation of $20,000 was made to the American Cancer Society as part of Tuesday’s event.
