More than 60 high school athletes across Southern Nevada took part in national signing day, but the energy at Gorman was unmatched, especially with the school’s loaded roster of D1 standouts headlining the ceremony.

The spotlight shone bright on Senior guard Aaliah Spaight, one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation, who made her future official by signing her financial aid agreement with Texas. Spaight had been courted by SEC powerhouses LSU and South Carolina after a breakout performance at Nike Nationals, but ultimately chose the Longhorns, ranked No. 4 in the country and fresh off a Final Four run. A four-star recruit and the No. 18 prospect in the class of 2026, Spaight called Texas “a perfect fit” as she prepares to join one of the premier programs in women’s college basketball.

Soccer standout Chase Stewart made it official and signed with the University of Denver. Stewart has 115 goals to end his high school career, that being the fourth most in the 5A state record book. Golfer Samantha Harris signed with Dartmouth; she’s coming off her big win of the 5A title in October. Volleyball players Ayanna Watson and Trinty Thompson both signed to play in the ACC with the University of Pittsburgh. Softball stars Samantha Lefever signed to attend Villanova University, Tiffany Gonzales, Bethel College, and Raelynn Brown will be going to Lower Columbia College.  (List of all Gorman signees can be found below)

But when the ink dried across campus, it was the boys of Las Vegas’ Bishop Gorman baseball who stole the spotlight.

This year’s baseball signing class is a notable one, starting with highly ranked first baseman/outfielder Chase Wilk, who signed with the University of Minnesota and will take his power bat to the BIG 10. “I am very excited to play at the next level in the BIG 10 with the University of Minnesota,” Wilk told Vegas News. “It is a dream come true to become a D1 athlete, and I can’t wait to step on campus next fall.”

He wasn’t alone. Two more Division I arms joined him at the table: Hudson Cuilla, an elite right-handed pitcher heading to Gonzaga University (WA), and Jack Stoner, a rising talent who signed with East Carolina University, one of the nation’s most respected baseball programs. Keep an eye out this spring for these three players; we have a feeling they are going to finish their senior year in a big way!

Depth on the mound was a theme of the day, as Gorman saw three additional pitchers make their college dreams official. Noah Ramos signed with the College of Southern Nevada, a program with a storied history of developing next-level talent. Justin Eddy committed to Olympic College (WA), while Niko Carpenter inked his future with the University of Mary (ND). Each pitcher brings a unique skill set: velocity, command, and durability. All three are expected to make an immediate impact on their new programs.

Gorman’s Varsity Baseball Head Coach Matt Stoner said, “I’m incredibly proud of these six seniors and everything they’ve accomplished, both on and off the field. Each one of them has shown tremendous work ethic, character, and resilience throughout their time in our program. They’ve been leaders in our clubhouse, great teammates, and examples for the younger players to follow.  Our bishop Gorman Family is very proud of you and knows you will represent us and your new school to the highest level.”

Across the board, coaches, families, and fellow students celebrated what felt like the beginning of something special. With impact players heading to powerhouse conferences and elite development programs across the country, Bishop Gorman once again proved why it remains a national pipeline for collegiate athletics.

From Spaight’s SEC-ready confidence to the powerhouse class of baseball signees preparing to climb the ranks of Division I ball, one thing is clear: colleges across America just landed some of the strongest talent the class of 2026 has to offer.

And for the Gaels, this is only the beginning. Football is next!
