If you want to watch the total solar eclipse in Las Vegas, you have plenty of options to see the celestial phenomenon.
To be clear, Southern Nevada isn’t in the path of totality. Las Vegas and its surrounding areas will only see about 51% totality with the eclipse on Monday. Despite that, the phenomenon is still going to be a sight to behold.
The total solar eclipse is set to pass over Las Vegas starting around 10:12 a.m. before peaking at 11:20 a.m., according to the Las Vegas Sun.
It’s critical to remember that you should never attempt to view a total solar eclipse with your bare eyes. You need to use special glasses that have a solar filter to block the sun’s harmful UV ways. According to the American Astronomical Society, the glasses should be ISO 12312-2 rated.
Many of the best high schools around Las Vegas are planning to hold a special viewing event for students on campus around 11:30 a.m.
If you want to view the eclipse from the highest point in Las Vegas, then you should check out The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. The resort is inviting fans to observe the partial eclipse from the tower from 10:43 a.m. to 11:57 a.m. on Monday.
More than that, the first 200 people who arrive at the tower will receive a pair of special solar eclipse viewing sunglasses with purchase of admission.
Whatever event you plan to check out, make sure not to miss it. The next total solar eclipse won’t happen in the U.S. until August 2024.
