Quick-thinking officers of the Las Vegas police department swung into action after receiving information about an individual’s intent to carry out a school shooting at Las Vegas High School. What could have turned into a disastrous situation was immediately quelled after an insider stepped in.
A Shooting Threat That Could Have Shook Vegas

Vegas police arrested Christopher Reeves, days after he allegedly sent a shocking message to his mother about his plans to carry out a school attack. According to an arrest report shared by Fox5 Vegas, Reeves emailed his mother on April 17, telling her the gory details of his plan.
The report read, “I am going to sho[o]t as many people as I can and shoot up Las Vegas High School. The suspect’s mom wasted no time reaching out to the authorities, refusing to call his bluff. Reeves’ mother insisted it was a credible threat that needed to be nipped in the bud, and officers did not fail in their duties.
The Suspect Has A Mental Disorder History

His mother backed up her claim with details about his mental health history, letting the police know her son was schizophrenic. She revealed her son was going through an episode and believed she was “part of the FBI/CIA.”
Officers of the Clark County School District and the LVMP joined forces to get to the root of the matter. Authorities headed to Reeves’ property to scope things out and observed “nothing out of the ordinary.” However, the suspect was not found at the property.
Due to the nature of the evidence found in the email, officers received directives to find him, leading to an arrest at a Barnes & Noble store in Henderson. According to the reports, Reeves refused to speak to detectives. He is being held for making a threat or false information regarding an act of terrorism.
Jail records show that the 48-year-old is held at the County Detention Center and will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on May 5.
Records Show Previous Run-ins With The Law

The arrest report shed more light on Reeves’ situation, citing previous brushes with the law. Leading up to his Vegas school shooting threat, five police reports have been filed against him. Four revealed claims of harassment, and one was for violating a temporary protective order.
Furthermore, two additional cases against Reeves are reported as active. In one case, the plaintiff filed a complaint of harassment and stalking on January, 11, 2025. However, court documents revealed that the judge presiding over the case dismissed the stalking charge five days later, after Reeves agreed to plead guilty to the harassment charge.
He then received a 60-day suspension sentence. The other case involved harassment, domestic violence, and violating a temporary protective order. The suspect had been out on bail when his mother reported the threat. Reeves is scheduled to be in court for this case on August 20.
