If you’re looking for some delicious quick eats around Sin City, then look no further than the new Las Vegas street vendors that are popping up on city streets and corners.
A recent deluge of Las Vegas street vendors are bringing an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine to the valley, according to KTNV. The vendors are known as puestos, and serve up classic dishes from tacos to elotes.
This type of street vendor is common in other areas of the country, including in Los Angeles. That’s one reason why some of the puesto operators are moving to Las Vegas in search of a less oversaturated market.
Customers seem to love the puestos and the authentic Mexican cuisine that they bring. One customer told KTNV that it’s “great quality stuff,” while another said that they “more of this.”
Although the puestos currently operate in a bit of a gray area currently, there are some regulations that might be coming down the line.
In 2023, the State of Nevada passed legislation that would remove systemic barriers faced by vendors and provide a path to official licensure. The city of Las Vegas has been a bit more strict, proposing a new of rules that would restrict where street vendors can operate.
