Spectacle, wonder and magic are all part of what makes Las Vegas so unique. 2019 saw a wave of captivating shows from the Cirque du Soleil to hidden musical gems in the most magnificent city on Earth. Artists known the world over have graced some of the hottest stages. From the paranormal to Lady Gaga, comedy to dance and rock ‘n’ roll, Las Vegas has it all. But, what makes Las Vegas such a hive of talent?

Here are three of 2019’s best live performances, to give you a taste of what the city has to offer.

Farruko’s “Gangalee Tour” at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort

Subgenre master Farruko, represented by international talent agency MN2S, graced The Pearl Concert Theatre in September 2019. Bringing his unparalleled showmanship to a vibrant stage, Farruko wowed the sold-out show with a journey through his musical career. Farruko’s command of hip hop, rap, reggaeton and R&B collided harmoniously with his dominion over the pop, mambo, vallenato and bachata genres.

Honouring his Puerto Rican heritage, Farruko’s “Gangalee Tour” was a celebration of culture, history and romance. Like a breath of fresh air, Farruko brought the lights, glamour and visuals fit for the Las Vegas stage. Transforming the Pearl into a Latino party, Farruko left a lasting impression on his fans with his phenomenal chart-stomping tunes.

“Rod Stewart: The Hits” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

Rock’ n’ Roll legend Rod Stewart stole the crowd at his acclaimed sold out eight-show lineup on the Vegas strip. The Colosseum saw Stewart’s only US tour in 2019, and what a show it was. Stewart brought the energy, charisma and love we all have come to know and celebrate with Stewart’s formidable showmanship.

As “Maggie May,” “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” and “The First Cut is the Deepest” stirred up one of Vegas’ grandest parties, Stewart left his audience in awe. At 74 years old, Stewart still has it! With a background of inspiring visuals, singers and live band, Stewart brought extraordinary life to his long tenure at Caesars Palace. Up close and personal, Stewart brought an intimate show that will last in the memory of his fans for years to come. For most, a once in a lifetime experience with one of music’s biggest names, “Rod Stewart: The Hits” is certainly not to be missed.

Lady Gaga Enigma + Jazz & Piano at Park Theatre, MGM Resort

Queen of reinvention, Lady Gaga’s Las Vegas Residency at the Park Theatre has captured the hearts and minds of her fans. Dazzling her audience with two separate shows: LADY GAGA ENIGMA and LADY GAGA JAZZ & PIANO, Gaga offered a tantalising musical extravaganza in 2019. Theatrical on the one hand and offering a stripped-down version of her hits on the other, as well as music from the Great American Songbook, Gaga brought a show like no other. In 2019, Gaga became the highest-grossing Las Vegas concert residency.

Through her mesmerising vocals, to her outstanding ability to transform a room with her artistry, Gaga created a show that subverts the norm. “Pokerface,” “Shallow” and “Bad Romance” echoed around the music hall, leaving everyone captivated by Gaga’s spectacle and showmanship. If you are fortunate to catch a ticket, Gaga is not worth missing!
