Aces of Comedy Series Returns at The Mirage

The popular Aces of Comedy series is returning to The Mirage Hotel & Casino in July with some of the biggest names in comedy scheduled to take The Mirage Theater stage.

Leading the lineup are Tom SeguraBill Maher, Chelsea Handler, Gabriel Iglesias and Jim Jefferies. All shows are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

TOM SEGURA (July 2 – 3)
Actor/Comedian/Writer Tom Segura is one of the biggest names in comedy. He recently performed to sold-out audiences on his 100-city Take It Down Tour. He is best known for his Netflix specials “Ball Hog” (2020), “Disgraceful” (2018), “Mostly Stories” (2016) and “Completely Normal” (2014). Paste Magazine described him as “…having a natural and capable storytelling ability, one that lifts his narratives out of average anecdote fare and plants them firmly in hilarious ground.”

Additionally, his hit podcasts “Your Mom’s House,” which he co-hosts with his wife, comedian Christina Pazsitzky, and “2 Bears 1 Cave,” which he co-hosts with Bert Kreischer, have rapidly grown to two of today’s biggest comedy podcasts.

CHELSEA HANDLER (July 10)
Chelsea Handler
 and her talk shows, best-selling books and stand-up comedy have attracted millions of fans worldwide.  Following a successful seven-year run as the host of E!’s top-rated “Chelsea Lately,” Handler launched “Chelsea,” a new Netflix talk show, in May 2016. The show was the first of its kind for the global on-demand generation and tackled society’s tough issues with the same acerbic wit and fearless curiosity fans know and love.

Handler has been honored by TIME magazine as one of its annual “TIME 100;” Glamour Magazine as one of its 2011 Women of the Year; and the Human Rights Campaign, which gave her its Ally for Equality Award in 2009. Handler’s wide appeal and multi-platform success have been highlighted by publications all over the world. 

BILL MAHER (July 16 – 17)
For more than 25 years, Bill Maher has set the boundaries of where funny, political talk can go on American television. First on “Politically Incorrect” (1993 – 2002) and for the last 19 years on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and comedic prowess has garnered him 41 Emmy nominations.

Maher started his career as a stand-up comedian in 1979 and currently performs at least 50 dates annually in Las Vegas and in sold-out theaters across the country. Four of his 11 stand-up specials for HBO – “Bill Maher: Live from DC” (2014), “Bill Maher … But I’m Not Wrong” (2010), “The Decider” (2007) and “I’m Swiss” (2005) – were nominated for Emmy Awards.

GABRIEL IGLESIAS (July 23 – 24)
Gabriel Iglesias 
is one of America’s most successful stand-up comedians, performing to sold-out crowds around the world. He also is one of the most-watched comedians on YouTube with over half a billion views and also has more than 24 million fans across his social media channels. In 2018, Iglesias was featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s “Top 40 Comedy Players” issue.

The actor/comedian is the star and executive producer of “Mr. Iglesias,” the original series is now streaming on Netflix. In addition to the comedy series, Iglesias penned a deal with Netflix to release his next two stand-up comedy specials – the first titled “One Show Fits All” (2019), which was filmed in front of a sold-out Toyota Center audience in Houston. He also has voiced characters in several animated films including “Coco,” “Ugly Dolls,” “Rufus The Dog,” “The Star” and “Ferdinand.”

JIM JEFFERIES (July 30 – 31)
Jim Jefferies is one of the most popular and respected comedians of his generation, entertaining audiences around the world with his provocative, belief-challenging and thought-provoking comedy. He was recently honored as Stand-Up Comedian of the Year at the Just for Laughs Festival.

The final season of his eponymous series, “The Jim Jefferies Show,” aired on Comedy Central in 2019. As a strong voice in late night, the weekly series featured Jefferies traveling the globe to tackle the top news stories and controversial issues of the day. Jefferies has signed a first-look deal with Comedy Central for content development in television and digital media

Jefferies recently released his newest Netflix special, “Intolerant,” in July 2020. He also has previous comedy specials streaming on Netflix including “Jim Jefferies: This Is Me Now,” “Freedumb” and “Jim Jefferies: Bare.” New episodes of his “I Don’t Know About That with Jim Jefferies” podcast are released every week on YouTube, Apple and Sporty, among other platforms. He is currently on the new Oblivious Tour. T
