Clark County Health Officials Continue Monitoring Cyclosporiasis Outbreak
Clarkson’s comments come as public health officials continue investigating a multistate outbreak of cyclosporiasis.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 1,600 confirmed illnesses have been reported across several states, with dozens of patients requiring hospitalization. Investigators have been examining shredded iceberg lettuce served at certain Taco Bell locations after some patients reported eating there before becoming sick.
Meanwhile, the Southern Nevada Health District recently confirmed that a Clark County resident developed cyclosporiasis after traveling outside Nevada to states connected with the outbreak. Per 8 News Now, District Health Officer Dr. Cassius Lockett said investigators have found no evidence that the individual became infected within Clark County or elsewhere in Nevada.
Officials also noted that five cases have been reported in Clark County this year, a figure they described as consistent with the area’s typical annual total. Health authorities added there is currently no indication of increased local transmission.

Despite the health scare, Clarkson has continued performing her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace. During her latest performance, Clarkson quickly transitioned away from her health story after joking there was “no segue” from the bathroom anecdote.
For now, Clarkson says she is feeling better, while health officials continue tracking the national cyclosporiasis outbreak. They are also encouraging anyone experiencing prolonged gastrointestinal symptoms after consuming fresh produce to seek medical advice.
