Skate culture is starting to make a significant impact in Las Vegas.
Street League Skateboarding, founded by MTV legend Rob Dyrdek, is rolling into town with the SLS Takeover on Saturday, October 25. The event will turn 305 Convention Center Drive into an open-air skate park called the “SK8 Lot,” right next to ComplexCon.

This isn’t your typical skate contest. SLS puts the spotlight on creativity, style, and street energy. Expect custom-built plazas with rails, stairs, and ledges that bring the audience closer to the action.
The Las Vegas stop is the final event before the Super Crown Championship, and more than 5,000 fans are expected to show up. Top names like Rayssa Leal, Dashawn Jordan, and Vincent Milou will compete in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Nitro Circus will also be on site, pulling off jaw-dropping tricks that keep the adrenaline flowing.

Beyond the competition, fans can grab exclusive merch, sample food from local favorites, and soak up a full day of music, skating, and festival vibes.
We spoke with CEO Frank Lamicella, who tells Vegas News, “Vegas is the home of SLS and we’re excited to bring the best skateboarders in the world to Sin City. The event will feature preeminent competition among SLS pros, many of whom are Olympic medalists, as well as Nitro Circus demos, the best of local Las Vegas food vendors, limited edition art and merch, and two live punk rock shows throughout the day. This is a can’t-miss event for the city of Las Vegas.”
“Las Vegas is known for world-class entertainment, and bringing Street League Skateboarding here adds a new dimension to the high-stakes action the city is famous for,” Tal Cooperman, Chief Marketing Officer of Thrill Sports, explained.

Adding, “SLS Takeover isn’t just another competition. It’s an immersive experience that’s sold out in Paris, Brazil, and Santa Monica. Now it’s Vegas’ turn.”
Street League Skateboarding has been transforming the sport since 2010, elevating it from underground contests to a global stage. Now, it’s ready to make Vegas the center of skate culture for one unforgettable day.
