‘Caveman’ Star Kevin Burke Named Entertainer of the Year

The Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino is proud to announce Kevin Burke, star of Defending the Caveman, was honored as “Entertainer of the Year” at the Fifth Annual Meatball Awards Sunday.

The Meatball Awards recognize talented entertainers, members of the press, chefs, sommeliers, entrepreneurs and many others who have helped make Las Vegas into the entertainment capital of the world.

“Kevin Burke is an accomplished and hilarious actor, and has been a wonderful asset in our entertainment lineup,” said Amy Chasey, vice president of marketing for the Golden Nugget. “We are very happy to see him receive such a fantastic and well-deserved award for his entertainment contributions to Las Vegas.”

Despite its comedic name, the Meatball Awards honor those performers and entertainers who serve as the backbone to the entertainment industry. The early years of Las Vegas saw a collection of singers, comedians and musicians who painted a historical canvas for what we now call “Vintage Las Vegas.” This year, producers opened new awards in media broadcasting, celebrity and lifetime achievement.

Despite the club-wielding sound of its title, Defending the Caveman is a hysterically funny, even sentimental, celebration of the relationships between men and women. It has been performed to more than 8 million people worldwide and mines the heterosexual relationship with razor sharp comedy.
