2019 Brings a Stellar Cast of Residencies on the Las Vegas Strip

Backstreet Boys, Cher, Gwen Stefani, Bruno Mars, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Queen—it’s safe to say that 2018 is the year of the Las Vegas residency. And we’re not done yet because Lady Gaga is set to end the year with a bang as she starts her extended 74-show residency at the Park Theater this December.

The coming year, however, brings a whole new level of entertainment to the Las Vegas Strip as it welcomes a stellar cast of residencies from some of the most iconic names in music:

Britney: Domination

The rumor mill is true; Britney Spears is coming back to Las Vegas for her “Britney: Domination” residency at the Park Theater at Park MGM. The pop star announced her return to the Strip in Ellen Degeneres’ YouTube channel with a half-hour reveal from the hotel in Vegas where she met up with fans. Britney Spears had a successful run at the Axis Theater in Planet Hollywood and helped Las Vegas rebrand itself as a music destination. Next year, she hopes to bring more tourists to the city as the show kicks off on February 13, 2019 at 9PM and will have schedules on March, May, July and August.

Lady Gaga: Enigma + Jazz and Piano

We all know Lady Gaga never fails to make scene with every appearance, and she is expected to make the Las Vegas lights shine brighter with her residency at the Park Theater at Park MGM. The six-time Grammy Award winner brings two distinctively different shows to the table. “Lady Gaga Enigma” will feature the singer’s greatest hits while “Lady Gaga Jazz and Piano” is a stripped-down version of the first show combined with American and Jazz standards from the early 20th century. So, if you want to take a break from reading an online gambling guide and hitting the casinos, this show is definitely a great way to spend the night at the Strip.

Cher: Classic Cher

Cher may be 72, but her vocal prowess and incredible stage presence has made her one of the most successful artists in residency this year. And she will be back on the Las Vegas stage in 2019 for her one-month residency at the Park Theater entitled “Classic Cher.” The Grammy, Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe awardee celebrates 50 years in music, film and TV with hits like “I Got You Babe,” “If I Could Turn Back Time” and “Strong Enough.” You will also get a taste of the legend’s new songs from her album “Dancing Queen.”

Backstreet Boys: Larger than Life

They are the biggest boy band of all time for a reason, and this year, they had one of the fastest-selling shows on the Strip. But they will be back for more in 2019 as they kick off another residency at the Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood in February. Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and AJ McLean will make fans swoon with their greatest hits and popular dance moves.

Mariah Carey: The Butterfly Returns

2018 was a big year for the Strip with the residency of Mariah Carey, and fans who missed her show will be glad to know that she’s coming back in 2019 with “The Butterfly Returns” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Grammy-award winning diva with a four-piece live band, three backup singers and seven dancers will wow crowds once again with renditions of her greatest hits including “Emotions,” “We Belong Together” and “Vision of Love.” Of course, you can’t miss hearing the singer’s famous five-octave vocal range plus a few surprises in between.

Of course, the Las Vegas residency scene wouldn’t be complete without the queen herself, Celine Dion. The five-time Grammy award winner had 15 successful years of performing in Las Vegas and this year, she will take her last bow on the city’s stage as she completes her residency in June.

The show that will kick off in January will feature a full orchestra brand and Celine Dion’s greatest hits in a custom-designed show that was once co-directed by her late husband. So, if you’re a big fan of the diva, make sure to catch one of her shows in 2019, which will run from January to June.
