2nd Annual Binion’s Poker Open Features Affordable Buy-Ins

The place that made poker famous is the place for the ultimate in tournament play when Binion’s kicks off its 2nd Annual Poker Open on Wednesday, October 15. Players of all skill levels are invited to bring their action for a chance to win where the legends made history.

“More than 3,000 people participated in the inaugural Poker Open,” said Glenn Casale, director of casino operations. “The players were so pleased with the tournament – the way we ran the events, the reasonable buy-ins, the quality of our dealers, the level of competition – they practically insisted we make it an annual event.”

Binion’s 2nd Annual Poker Open features 21 tournaments beginning October 15 through November 3. Tournament buy-ins start as low as $100 with some events ranging up to a $500 buy-in and most averaging a buy-in of $150. The No Limit Hold’em Championship Event will take place on November 3 with a buy-in of $1,000.

In a first for the legendary property, Binion’s will offer a player appreciation tournament on November 2 with two percent of each previous event prize pool withheld for the pot. Players qualify for the Binion’s Poker Open Player Appreciation Tournament by playing in at least one previous event with a maximum of three receipts. The buy-in is $100. One seat to the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Championship event will be awarded to every player who makes the final table of the Binion’s Poker Open Player Appreciation Tournament.

“Poker is one of the essential fundamentals of Binion’s history and a big part of that legacy belongs to the players,” said Casale. “The player appreciation tournament is Binion’s way of showing our players how much we value them for keeping the action right where it started.”

In addition to the regular tournaments, the 2nd Annual Binion’s Poker Open will feature three Super Satellite tournaments with eight players at each event. Super Satellite players buy-in for $75 and the winner of each event is awarded a seat in a $500 event. Super Satellites take place at 5 p.m. on October 23, October 29 and November 2.

Binion’s 2nd Annual Poker Open features a variety of popular games including No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud 8 or Better, HORSE and a Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Event. Players can register on the day of the event, three hours prior to No-Limit Hold‘em tournaments and two hours prior to all other tournaments. Binion’s has been making Las Vegas history since 1951 when Texas gambler, Benny Binion, bought the property at 128 Fremont Street. Benny was passionate about giving players excitement, good odds and friendly service, or as he would say – Good Food. Good Whiskey. Good Gamble. Fremont Street has changed dramatically since the days of Benny Binion but his enthusiasm still remains at the historic casino and has been picked up by the current owner, TLC Casino Enterprises, who purchased the property in March 2008. Renovations to the gaming areas, public areas and all 366 hotel rooms are in progress. The property has 80,000 square feet of gaming space with 850 slot and video poker machines, 47 table games and the World Famous Poker Room.
