Making Magic debuted on Facebook Watch on Thursday. Its premiere episode (featuring guest Justin Flom) was streamed 600,000 times over the weekend. (That’s nearly as many views as CW’s “April Fool Us Day” special (0.3/1 Ratings/Share [18-49], .94 Viewers [in millions]).

You might recognize Making Magic guest Justin Flom from his recent stint on CBS’s World’s Best and The Late Late Show. He and show host Rick Lax began performing tricks at the Top Hat & Wand Magic Shoppe, located on Dean Martin Drive. Then they drove up the Strip, past Fremont Street, and to Tony Hsieh’s Gold Spike, where a crowd of bargoers watched Justin perform an incredible illusion.

Throughout the 13-minute episode, Flom and Lax let us in on magic’s secrets. Not magic’s biggest secrets—Why won’t they tell us how the big tricks work?—but plenty to keep us entertained. If Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is starting to feel old, Making Magic is a breath of fresh air. So many magic shows take themselves too seriously; this one is unpretentious and unbelievable.

New episodes to be released biweekly.
