'80s Pop Icon Debbie Gibson Attends "Rock of Ages" at The Venetian Las Vegas
On Thursday, June 4, ‘80s pop icon Debbie Gibson stopped by Rock Of Ages at The Venetian Las Vegas for the 8 p.m. performance (Photo credit: Sharon delPilar / Rock Of Ages).

During a moment in the show when the narrator, “Lonny,” played by Mark Shunock, breaks the fourth wall to go through the list of music icons he’s been fortunate enough to work with during his time at the legendary Bourbon Room, Shunock stopped the show to get the answer that many have been asking for decades: Debbie or Deborah? The “Foolish Beat” singer obliged, standing to wave to the packed house and responded, in fact, “it’s back to Debbie.”

Following the conclusion of the show, Gibson met with the cast for photos and to express her enjoyment of the performance.

In response to a tweet from Rock of Ages star Bob Torti, noting the production’s 900th performance and thanking the pop icon for attending the show, Gibson replied, “And it shows! You are all FABULOUS! Thanks 4 the 1st rate performances. Being a theater actor is a noble profession!”

Rock of Ages takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! A hilarious, feel-good love story celebrating the great rock songs of the ‘80s including such sing-out-loud songs as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” “Here I Go Again,” “Don’t Stop Believin’” and more.
