A Night with Chrissie Hynde at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort Nov. 28
One of contemporary music’s greatest songwriters, Chrissie Hynde brings her North American tour to the intimate Pearl Concert Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Nov. 28, 2014 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $43, plus any additional service fees.
With more than 25 million records sold and 30-plus years into her tenure as Pretenders founder and leader, Hynde recently released Stockholm, the first-ever album under her own name, to rave reviews. The North American tour will feature Hynde performing Pretenders hits as well as the first live performances of songs from the new album. Stockholm was released six years after the last Pretenders album.
“It’s the first album with my name on it,” Hynde says. “But it’s not a solo album. In fact, making this album was more of a collaboration than any Pretenders album ever was.”
Stockholm may not be a solo album but it certainly has the vibe of an energized debut by a vital artist, one who gives voice to the disaffected while celebrating the undeniable power of a classic love song, a night on the dance floor, honest authentic rock n roll and other things that make life worth living.
Stockholm was heralded by Hynde’s debut appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “The Colbert Report” where she performed “Dark Sunglasses,” the lead single from the 11-track release which charted in the AAA Top 20.
