All-New Sonoma Cellar Steakhouse Inside Sunset Station Opens After Full Renovation
With its long history of serving as a popular steakhouse in Henderson, Sonoma Cellar is welcoming back longtime guests and inviting new friends to experience a fresh and affordable steakhouse experience at Sunset Station.

After undergoing a significant renovation, Sonoma Cellar has reopened not only with an entirely new look but a new menu too. Led by Louisiana-born Chef Britt Beeland, Sonoma Cellar’s new menu features many specialty items created just for the Sunset Station steakhouse.

Examples of new menu items include a crab cocktail served with white remoulade, Penn Cove mussels, tableside steak tartar, a house-made steak sauce, bone marrow, and smoked pork belly made with a Southern grits mousse, bourbon maple, and rainbow chard. The new Sonoma Cellar also features a special bar menu from 4-6 p.m. daily, with Cajun touches included such as fried green tomatoes, Buffalo frog legs and crab dip.

As the restaurant’s name would suggest, Sonoma Cellar is also home to a wine cellar that contains 280 varieties. And although the look and feel of Sonoma is completely new, the new menu does feature some of Sonoma’s most popular dishes, such as the 20-ounce rib eye, shrimp cocktail or oysters.

As for the restaurant’s fresh look, those familiar with the former space will immediately notice the brighter, light gray stone façade with white trim that greets guests outside the steakhouse. The former Sonoma Cellar was created to look like the inside of an upscale wine cellar, with stone walls and iron fixtures reminiscent of an old world winery restaurant. The new Sonoma Cellar retains the wine cellar theme, but with the updated color scheme of light gray and white, with emerald green interspersed throughout the space.

The new bar area is twice the size of the former bar area, creating a beautiful, open space for socializing with friends and your favorite libation. Bar stools in emerald green rest in front of a white bar, while cream club chairs sit around lounge tables in the expanded social area. Mirrored walls help open up the space while elegant details such as the light-gray, faux stone finished walls help create a high-end, neighborhood steakhouse experience.

In the main dining area, cream colored chairs surround the dining tables, while emerald colored booths add pops of color. The original architecture was maintained, honoring the feel of a wine cellar, with curved arches throughout. In addition to the new design touches, Sonoma will also source its meats through Niman Ranch, ensuring the freshest product available. Beginning with the re-opening, all meat will be aged in-house, to give guests the freshest and best product available.

Sonoma Cellar is open for dinner daily from 5 p.m., with happy hour starting at 4 p.m. in the bar area. For reservations, please call 702-547-7777.
