America’s Party Fireworks Display Expands to Eight Rooftops on New Year’s Eve

Las Vegas Events (LVE) and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) announced today that the New Year’s Eve celebration known as America’s Party: Las Vegas New Year 2012 will include a spectacular fireworks show fired from eight rooftop locations along the Las Vegas Strip.

This year the America’s Party fireworks display will be expanded to include the Tropicana Las Vegas as the eighth firing location.

“The America’s Party Fireworks display is a one-of-a-kind event, and expanding it to eight rooftops will only enhance the experience,” said LVE President Pat Christenson. “Each year, we look for new ways to make this pyrotechnic display more memorable for the thousands of revelers on the Strip and for those watching throughout the country.”

The firing locations (from the south, heading north) include the following resort properties: Tropicana Las Vegas, MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island (TI), The Venetian and the Stratosphere.

Fireworks by Grucci of New York will coordinate the pyrotechnic display for the eighth time. The group has executed numerous presidential inaugurations and citywide celebrations. Locally, Fireworks by Grucci has produced many of Las Vegas’ largest special events and grand openings, including the official Las Vegas Centennial celebration.

According to the LVCVA, Las Vegas hosted an estimated 320,000 visitors during the New Year’s Eve celebration that ushered in 2011.

Thematic elements and the musical portion of the fireworks show will be announced at a later date.
