America–The 40th Anniversary World Tour–Coming to the Cannery May 14

America
Classic rock group America will perform their #1 hits “A Horse With No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair” and many others during their 40th Anniversary World Tour stop at The Club inside The Cannery Casino & Hotel on May 14th at 9 p.m.

Founding members, Gerry Beckly and Dewey Bunnell (along with former band mate Dan Peek) were barely past their teenage years spent as Air Force brats in England when they became a musical sensation in 1972, scoring #1 hits and winning a Grammy for best new musical artist. The group went on to record seven albums and several Top Ten hits including “Ventura Highway,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People” and “You Can Do Magic.”

A rigorous tour and exhausting recording schedule took its toll on the group in the 70s but with Peek’s departure the band mates rose to the challenge and carried on as a duo. During this turbulent time in their career, Beckley and Bunnell immersed themselves in their music and have since produced landmark releases like 2000’s Highway 3-disk box set, 2007 Here & Now and 2009’s Live in Concert: Wildwood Springs.

In addition to their classics, America is revisiting their roots as writers and artists. The 40th Anniversary Show features songs reflecting some of their song writing inspirations as well as showcasing their first album America with a very special acoustic set.

Tickets for the show are $19.95 Reserved, $34.95 Gold and $69.95 for Tables, plus tax and fees. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cannerycasino.com or by calling The Cannery box office at (702) 507-5757.
