Anchor Bar Las Vegas Opens Today at The Venetian
Anchor Bar, the iconic Buffalo, NY institution opens it’s first West Coast outpost on June 17 in the Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian|Palazzo. Inventors of The Original Buffalo Wing, Anchor Bar boasts creating the prized recipe that started a nationwide sensation.
Since 1964, Anchor Bar has been serving up their signature Buffalo wings that Teressa Bellisimo created on a whim. After her son Domenic and friends stopped by looking for a late night snack, Teressa took chicken wings, usually meant for the stock pot, fried them up, and coated them with a now famous special sauce to create the one and only Buffalo Wing. Since that night, Anchor Bar has been serving up what’s become one of America’s most iconic foods, always served with celery and Anchor Bar’s signature blue cheese dressing.
Lucky Las Vegas will get a taste of Anchor Bar’s famous wings with Anchor Bar Las Vegas, inside of the Grand Canal Shoppes Food Court at Venetian|Palazzo. Keeping traditions sacred, Anchor Bar Las Vegas will serve Teressa’s classic wings as well as new flavors. A mix of East Coast favorites like Beef on Weck and Chicken Cheesesteaks join new options like Kale Salad and Sweet Potato Tots to create a distinctly Las Vegas menu. Fans of Buffalo’s original Anchor Bar won’t be disappointed with this classic eatery’s first quick service outpost.
Hospitality consultants Epicurean Strategic Partners (ESP) can be credited with bringing the wings to Vegas. “Anchor Bar is such a classic, everyone who knows wings knows Anchor Bar” says ESP founder and COO Tony Figurelli. “We are honored to be able to bring such a beloved concept to the Las Vegas Strip.”
With a menu that pays homage to Anchor Bar’s location and with few Vegas twists, guests can expect Anchor Bar’s famous Buffalo Wings in Mild, Medium, Hot, Spicy Hot BBQ, or Suicidal; or in Vegas exclusive wing flavors like Honey-Ginger, Salt & Pepper, Teriyaki Sesame and Extra Mild for the “little peeps.” Fans can also enjoy upstate New York’s traditional Beef on Weck, Thinly Sliced Roast Beef dipped in Au Jus Served on a Kimmelweck Roll; a Chicken Cheesesteak, with Grilled Chicken, Melted Swiss and Caramelized Onions; and Buffalo Chips, Signature Fries Tossed in AB Sauce and Smothered with Spicy Cheese Sauce. For desserts, enjoy Anchor Bar Las Vegas’ exclusive ice cream bar created by local gelato impresario Luciano Pellegrino, the Anchor Bar, Vanilla Ice Cream Bar Coated in Puffed Rice and Marshmallow Glaze and Dipped in Chocolate; as well as handcrafted Carrot and Celery Sorbetto Pops to cool the burn.
To complement the menu, Anchor Bar Las Vegas will offer a selection of beer, wine and cocktails that pair perfectly with the world’s best wings. Enjoy Brooklyn Brown Ale, Pyramid Hefeweizen and an assortment of other fine beers on tap, Genesee Cream Ale and PBR by the can. Draft wines include Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, while cocktails fans can indulge in selections including Ruby Frescas and the Anchor Bar Pineapple Express on tap. Anchor Bar Las Vegas will also offer a special Anchor Bar Hot Shot, a spicy mix of heat and liquor.
Anchor Bar Las Vegas is located inside of the Food Court at the Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian|Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip.
