Asher Roth Performs at Moorea Beach Club in Las Vegas

Las Vegas partiers who still miss those good old college days came out to Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino this afternoon to relive the good times and support “I Love College” rapper Asher Roth (Photo credit: Ethan Miller/Getty).

Before heading down to Moorea Beach Club, Roth tweeted, “Toptional Pool Party. Mandalay Bay. 2 p.m. #Vegass.” Roth entered the venue with his posse of 6 and headed to his private pavilion, a 250 square-foot cabana which boasts a private pool and lounge area complete with waterfalls. Each unit includes a television, MP3 docking station, cushioned chaise lounges, ceiling fan, telephone and personal server.

Upon arrival to Moorea Beach Club, Roth participated in a few interviews saying he “loved the vibe of Las Vegas” and that “this city is so dynamic.” He said he was looking forward to eating a good steak at Mandalay Bay and was hoping to take in Disney’s THE LION KING before leaving town.

Before hitting the stage, Roth mingled in the pavilion area with other partygoers. He and his friends munched on dishes from the Moorea Beach Club menu including the “Coconut Shrimp” with mango honey dipping sauce, a “Double Beach Burger” with cheese, “Herschel Walker Chicken Tenders” with french fries and fruit, cheese quesadillas and a “Rock Shrimp Salad” with sweet pears and an orange basil vinaigrette. To finish the meal and cool off, Roth’s group snacked on Klondike Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches.

DJ Wreckineyez got the party started by spinning popular hits such as “Party Rock Anthem” by LMAFO, “Run the World” by Beyonce and “Shots” by Lil Jon. When DJ Wreckineyez spun a remix of “Teach Me How to Dougie” by Cali Swag District, Roth was seen doing his own version of the popular dance in his pavilion. Shortly afterwards, Wreckineyez introduced Roth to the stage as he and his friends squirted fans with water guns.

Roth warmed up the crowd by shouting “How are you beautiful people doing?” as fans cheered excitedly. The charismatic rapper shouted “Vegas, I can’t hear you. I’m coming down there” and jumped into the pool with fans. Roth began his three-song set in the pool with his hit “She Don’t Wanna Man,” a tribute to all of the single ladies who “just came here to dance.” Halfway through the song, a fan handed him a bottle of Jack Daniels which he shared with fans. Next, Roth sang his song “Actin’ Up” and at the end told fans they were “taking shots at the bar after this.”

Before closing out his set, Roth ran around the venue, shaking hands and hugging fans, and even personally greeted fans in the back pool. Roth began to perform his hit single “I Love College” while mingling with partygoers at the bar. By the end of the song, Roth was back in the pool, cooling off with fans. Before heading back to his pavilion, he thanked everyone for coming out and shouted, “I love Mandalay Bay and Las Vegas. I love all the positive vibes–good people, good drinks and good fun!”
